Glen McLeod is director of Edge Mortgages. He’s answering readers’ questions about home loans, whether you’re a first-timer just getting into the market or someone who already has a loan and is wondering about the best way to manage it. If you have a query, email [email protected] Q: We have some acquaintances who have been following an aggressive policy to pay off their home loan. We don't know them well enough to ask for how to do it exactly, but it generally goes something like this: An amount fixed long term, an amount fixed medium term and an amount fixed for a year. The long-term fixed amounts are paid at the minimum repayment whereas the year fixed term is set and repaid at a rate that the whole amount will be paid off within the year. A bar of gold. A disk of iron. A chain of beads. A card of plastic. A slip of cotton-linen paper. These things are worthless. One cannot eat them, or drink them, or use them as a blanket. As of this writing, it’s worth more than $10,000. Its value has doubled in the last two months alone. For any currency’s value to increase by 100 percent in eight weeks is, to use a technical term, bonkers. If the Japanese yen or American dollar did the same, their economies would plunge into an infernal deflationary spiral. Throughout … [Read more...] about What the Hell Is Going On With Bitcoin?

MARGARET BRENNAN: California congressman Pete Aguilar is a member of the January 6 Select Committee and he joins us from New York. Good morning to you, Congressman. REP. PETE AGUILAR: Good morning, Margaret. MARGARET BRENNAN: We also heard sworn testimony that the former president spoke to the Justice Department and Homeland Security about seizing voting machines. There was testimony this week that a Pentagon official and the Defense Secretary, the Acting Defense Secretary, were chasing a conspiracy theory about Italian satellites changing votes. These are outrageous ideas. But- but how far did this actually get? REP. AGUILAR: Well, I think what the- the testimony, and- and what we have laid out clearly indicates that the President, you know, knew he lost the election. And then he continued to gravitate to these conspiracy … [Read more...] about Transcript: Rep. Pete Aguilar on “Face the Nation,” June 26, 2022

Great experience for me.” “There’s an audience on Fox News that doesn’t hear enough from Democrats,” Brazile said in 2019, the year she joined Fox News. “We have to engage that audience and show Americans of every stripe what we stand for rather than retreat into our ‘safe spaces’ where we simply agree with each other.” Brazile appeared last weekend on ABC News’ “This Week” with host George Stephanopoulos, where she was described as a contributor.
