Doctors and teachers would be the first people in Russia to take part in a mass COVID-19 vaccination campaign set to start in October, the country's health minister has said. Mikhail Murashko has said that clinical trials had been completed at the state research facility in Moscow, the Gamaleya Institute, and that the vaccine was now being registered. "The vaccine against coronavirus infection, developed by the Gamaleya center, has completed clinical studies, and a package of documents is being prepared for the registration procedure," Murashko said according to the state news agency Tass. "Once it is authorized, vaccines will start to be used in special groups, first of all on doctors and teachers," he told journalists in Nizhny Novgorod, adding, "we plan wider vaccinations for October," without elaborating further on the vaccine or the vaccination program. HBO’s The Last of Us is riding on the wings of success; however, the video game series might not go ahead from 2018’s The Last of Us Part 2. During an interview with Buzzfeed , the game series creative director and HBO show creator Neil Druckmann gave an update on the third installment of the PlayStation game. The creator said, “We’re very privileged that our publisher is Sony,” Druckmann added. “They have supported us every step of the way to follow our passions — meaning that just because something is successful, people think there’s all this pressure and we have to make a sequel. That’s not the case. For us, Uncharted was insanely successful — Uncharted 4 was one of our best selling games — and we’re able to put our final brushstroke on that story and say that we’re done. We’re moving on. Likewise, with The Last of Us, it’s up to us whether we want to continue or not.” However, Druckmann revealed the team is working on ideas to expand the franchise. “Our process is … [Read more...] about ‘The Last of Us 3’ future is up in the air, Naughty Dog says

As presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden appears set to announce his running mate this week, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren has been the most successful of the contenders at fundraising for the former vice president. Warren, a former progressive rival during the primaries, endorsed Biden in mid-April and was quick to publicly express her interest in joining the Democratic candidate's ticket as his running mate. The second-term senator has raised more than $7.7 million for Biden since her endorsement, Politico reported on Monday. On Tuesday, Warren plans to co-host another event for Biden alongside Representative Katie Porter, a California Democrat. Tickets will be sold for $250 to $25,000. Meanwhile, Senator Kamala Harris of California, who has been seen as a top contender among the vice presidential candidates, raised over $5 million for Biden, according to Politico. The video, which was released on Monday, included footage from the aftermath of the deaths of Sandra Duran, 42, Nisa Mickens, 15, and Police Corporal Ronil Singh, 33. At the end of the ad, viewers were encouraged, "Tell Democrats it's time to secure the border." Through his video and performance works, Wellington-based artist Christopher Ulutupu, who is of Sāmoan, Niuean and German descent, tries to unpick Pacific stereotypes and dissect the impact of colonisation – themes that have a presence in the fashion realm too. "If clothes are an extension of a person, I also believe that it acts as a mask as well," Ulutupu explains. "This mask allows for people to fit into different social/cultural groups, the trick is to understand how your mask works." Alongside his work as an artist and costume designer, Ulutupu is employed part time as the arts in corrections adviser for Arts Access Aotearoa, a role which sees him advocate for access to the arts for prisoners and people serving community sentences. "I wear shorts as an act of defiance and a way to disarm against those who are in charge of policy and legislation that create barriers for people accessing the arts.
